Sure enough, the team soon stumbles upon an entirely new lifeform, but unluckily for them - it's far more intelligent than they'd bargained for. With its trailer setting it up as a mix of Alien and The Thing, Life tells the story of a small crew of the International Space Station on a mission to discover new life. Still, that isn't to say that it doesn't look promising. With Alien Covenant coming out only a few months later, you can't help but feel like the odds are stacked against this upcoming extraterrestrial thriller.

Whether it’ll be a good movie or not remains to be seen, but based on the excellent trailers so far, put us down as cautiously optimistic for this one. Perfectly capturing the original's dizzying mix of brightly lit neon cities and futuristic, Matrix-esque action, the film looks like it might have managed to nail the feel of the anime. Yet despite its obvious whitewashing, the footage we’ve seen so far looks surprisingly promising. It’s not exactly been smooth sailing for the adaptation so far, with it already receiving understandable backlash for casting Scarlett Johansson as a Japanese character.

Ghost In The ShellĪfter years of talk of a live-action version, 2017 will finally see Holywood releasing their take on the 1995 anime classic. As all of Wolverine’s standalone films so far have been terrible, let’s hope that this more adult tale will finally deliver a film worthy of such a brilliant character. With mutant powers mysteriously vanishing, the plot will focus on Logan and Professor X teaming up to help save one of the world’s last remaining mutants. With Logan Hugh Jackman’s last turn as Wolverine, this R-rated post-apocalyptic tale sees everyone’s favorite anti-hero slowly losing his healing abilities.

With the original comics being credited as the inspiration behind Star Wars, we're certainly curious to see whether this adaptation will offer more than the style over substance CG-fest that the trailer suggests. While Luc Besson hasn't exactly had the best track record of late (we're looking at you, Lockout) let's not forget that this is written and directed by the man who made Leon.

After the original LEGO movie provided some genuine belly laughs and withLEGO Batman boasting such a bizarre ensemble cast, we can't wait to see how this turns out. If those modern comedic talents aren't enough to hold your interest, picture them mouthing off alongside LEGO bricks voiced by the likes of Ralph Fiennes, Mariah Carey and Bee Dee Williams (Lando) and you'll see why we're excited. Boasting a cast of comedic heavyweights like Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis and Michael Cera, LEGO Batman looks set to offer another colorful dose of masterfully written meta-humour.
